Touchup Paint Mixing

Most of the restoration of the Flash playfield will be done using acrylic paints, since the vast majority of the artwork is intact, and in fairly good condition. We'll just be filling in small imperfections and scratches with the acrylic paint. The trickiest part of this is the color matching. I have a stable of acrylic craft paints that we use to mix custom colors, but the fact is that I am not very good at this. My wife Marian has a better feeling for mixing color, so this task usually falls to her, really the only part of the restoration process for which I dragoon her services. It is called The Family Arcade, after all.

The toughest colors to match are the flesh color, and the gold color on some of the clothing. The largest swatches of missing paint are in these shades, so it pays to make sure the match for them is as close as possible. Marian came through, and spent an evening mixing these two colors. Alex and I will attempt the touchups next.
